Formerly known as the Future Leaders, St. Paul’s Foundation Ambassadors are an engaged committee of young professionals who commit their time to raising awareness and funds for St. Paul’s Foundation. Since its inception in 2014, the committee has helped raise $1,35o,ooo for St. Paul’s Hospital.

Chelsea is a seasoned, Communications Professional with over 25-years of brand planning and communication experience. Today, she is a leader at Rethink – Canada’s most awarded creative advertising agency in Canada and top independent agency in the world. Chelsea works on some of Canada’s most beloved brands including A&W, WestJet and the YWCA. Outside of work you can find Chelsea doing what she loves best, spending time with her family and hiking the North Shore mountains with her rescue pup, Billie.

Anisha serves on the board of directors for her family foundation, The Amir & Yasmin Virani Family Foundation and National Arts Council of Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, and a Master’s degree in Mass Communications (MSc) from Boston University.

His business specializes in property and project management, advisory services, valuation, investment sales and leasing. Stanley’s vision for the company cultivates around value for service and a responsibility in the personal and professional growth of its staff through philanthropy, empowerment, leadership and the cultivation of teams.
In 2005, Stanley earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Human Kinetics with a major in recreation and sport management and a minor in commerce. His following years included studies in Urban Land Economics and Real Estate through UBC’s Sauder School of Business.
Stanley’s commitment and inspiration in philanthropy originates from the generosity of his mother for the public good. He has served as a mentor for 10 years with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver and continues to contribute to the life of his mentee. His devotion to proper governance and an advocate for philanthropy of all ages began decades ago with the inception of a local charitable foundation in which he served as vice president on the board. During these early stages, Stanley was involved with board selection, governance, mandates, and fundraising. Stanley currently serves as board member of the Arbutus Club, a ‘putting family’s first’ private and recreational club in the westside of Vancouver BC.

Shawn’s connection to St. Paul’s Foundation is rooted in personal experience. Having spent many hours at St. Paul’s Hospital with his mother, he witnessed firsthand the remarkable kindness, skill, and dedication of the healthcare teams. This experience inspired him to give back and contribute to the Foundation’s mission to advance and transform care for future generations.
Beyond real estate and philanthropy, Shawn integrates his passion for cars with charitable initiatives that make a difference. Fayaz Ashraf is an interdisciplinary technologist with 25+ years of experience in consumer/enterprise software and interactive entertainment.
He holds the position of Senior Staff Engineer at Slack, serving as the company’s senior-most technical lead on all marketing initiatives and campaigns, customer acquisition strategy and international expansion efforts. Fayaz holds a BASc Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts, an unconventional graduate business degree focused on design thinking, business model innovation, generative leadership, strategic foresight and sustainability.
He has held pivotal roles at Loud Crow Interactive, a highly awarded publisher of educational mobile apps for children, as well as Microsoft and Electronic Arts. Jennifer Gibson, RN, MSN, PhD serves as the Executive Director of Practice, Quality, and Program Development for Seniors Care at Providence Living and Providence Health Care (PHC). Additionally, she holds the position of Director of Ethics at PHC and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia’s School of Nursing.
In her current role, Dr. Gibson provides executive oversight for all resident care quality and safety initiatives across Providence Living care villages and PHC homes. A key focus of her work is the innovative Home for Us model, a social-relational approach designed to enhance the quality of life for residents, families, and staff in long-term care settings.
As a respected speaker and educator, Dr. Gibson frequently shares her expertise on Health Care Ethics and the benefits of social-relational models in seniors’ care. Her insights have been featured at numerous local and national conferences and educational events, as well as in a variety of peer-reviewed publications.

James worked with the Vancouver Club for 11 years in various capacities of service, membership sales and member experience. Throughout this tenure, he was responsible for the execution of hundreds of events, earning a reputation as the “Director of Good times”.
A brand experience strategist, James and his team have built a reputation for filling a niche of hospitality and marketing for businesses and corporations across the globe. His clients span across several industries including private clubs, property development, tech and construction.

Currently serving as Director, Regional Banking for the BC & Yukon Region at Scotiabank, Steven plays a crucial role in the Region’s growth and operational excellence of 130 branches in Retail and Business Banking. He is the conduit between the Region and Head Office on strategy implementation and initiative execution through cross-functional collaboration.
Steven holds an MBA degree from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University. Since joining Scotiabank in 2002, Steven has held progressively senior roles in the distribution channel from advisors to branch leadership. His expertise span across financial planning, change management, strategic and resource planning as well as risk management. He is known for his strategic vision, innovative approach for problem solving and inclusive leadership skills.
Having lived experience of a close family member on their cancer journey, Steven has seen the profound impact of giving back and what it can do to save lives. Her firm has sold high profile development sites and manages over $2 billion of real estate assets for clients. As an innovator, building beyond the traditional brokerage model, Yoyoe transforms Claridge into a modern real estate powerhouse consisting of in-house media production, studio, marketing, research, in addition to transaction management. Melanie is a Partner at Cornerstone Planning Group, where she leads the health planning team. Her projects focus on infrastructure and strategic decision making across all sectors of health, from primary care to acute, including residential, community and mental health. She has a particular interest in health data analytics and how they explain systems of care. Melanie is motivated by the opportunity she sees in bettering our system, and by the passionate people in it. She has been lucky to work with all BC health authorities and across the country.
Melanie has a background in systems design engineering and holds a neuroscience Masters from UBC. She grew up in North Vancouver and has spent her life loving this city. She is focused on Analytics and is passionate about data and is often participating in various speaking engagements. Being multi disciplinary has allowed her to teach abroad and win various awards.

This feeds her commitment to growing the power of communities throughout BC. Pixel Moments returned in early 2022 with another larger than life, augmented-reality-activated photo-mosaic unveiled in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Experience the immersive, augmented reality come to life through selfies donated and submitted by donors like you!
The mosaic art piece for 2022 was created by Abbotsford-based queer xʷməθkʷəy̓əm and tsimshian artist named Chase Gray. This year, Pixel Moments partnered with Vancouver Mural Festival.
Future Leaders Speaker Series: “Indigenous-specific racism in BC health care and the path forward”
In our virtual fall session of St. Paul’s Future Leaders Speaker Series, we heard from Indigenous Wellness & Reconciliation experts at Providence Health Care (PHC) as they guided us through the findings from the 2020 report, In Plain Sight. At this event, our presenters explored how to improve accountability for Indigenous-specific racism, increase cultural safety, and expand Indigenous leadership across all industry sectors.

St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders are raising funds to support Providence’s Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation program. This program supports self-identified Indigenous patients and families by providing access to traditional cultural practices and community supports including Elders, discharge planning, and culturally safe navigation, as well as supporting service providers to understand principles of cultural safety and humility and to apply their learnings to the care environment.

COVID-19 has taken a devastating physical and emotional toll on our community. If you or a loved one has had COVID-19, you’re likely feeling anxious and adrift in the uncharted territory of long COVID. Even if we haven’t been diagnosed with the coronavirus, it’s safe to say that none of us has been spared from the pandemic’s wrenching aftermath.
A healing conversation took place on February 4, 2021 with an expert panel; Dr. Suja Srikameswaran, Dr. Grant Millar, Dr. Bri BentzonBudlovsky and <b>Jaclyn Robinson</b> who shared their frontline stories and tangible strategies to cope with illness, uncertainty, loss, and loneliness.
St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders raised funds to support St. Paul’s Hospital’s Psychiatry and Mental Health departments. Over $1,000 was raised for the essential inpatient units, and the programs and research initiatives that help St. Paul’s Hospital inform better care and holistic wellness.
Future Leaders Speaker Series: “No Returns, No User Guide, and No Sleep: A conversation on the early days of parenthood”
St. Paul’s Future Leaders held a free, interactive event that dove into the new joys, trials, and challenges of early parenthood. Along with health care professionals from Providence Health Care, we discussed the early years of parenting and the impact of COVID-19.
The Keefer Bar opened the event with an interactive bartending demonstration, where attendees learned the art of a classic cocktail/mocktail, perfect for winding down when the kids are asleep.
Our panel of experts Dr. Judy Wolfe, Dr. Robert Anderson, Dr. Suja Srikameswaran, and Andrea Firmani then shared their knowledge around the importance of support systems and self-compassion, COVID-19 safety for kids, continuing education, identifying and treating post-partum depression, and more and answered your parenthood questions.
On July 26, 2019, women and men across Vancouver came together to raise awareness and funds for the new St. Paul’s. This new health campus will put people first by delivering innovative health care that sets a new standard. Shorts 4 St. Paul’s brings young professionals together in a meaningful way to support improved health treatment and access in BC.
