The 2015 Lights of Hope campaign, St. Paul’s Foundation’s 18th annual holiday fundraiser, saw record-breaking contributions from sponsors, the community, and St. Paul’s staff and volunteers that will support patient care, equipment, research and teaching at St. Paul’s.
While the façade of St. Paul’s glowed from November to January, the community came together in support of the hospital’s greatest needs, raising an incredible $3.15 million.
“Donations to Lights of Hope help bring comfort, support and hope to the hundreds of thousands of British Columbians who rely on St. Paul’s for the best possible care,” says Dick Vollet, President and CEO, St. Paul’s Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of our community, even more patients will benefit from the incredible advances made possible by donations to Lights of Hope.”
Since its inception in 1998, Lights of Hope has raised more than $28.7 million, funding urgently needed equipment and other items in St. Paul’s GI Clinic, Emergency Department, Maternity Centre and throughout the hospital. Groundbreaking research at the internationally renowned Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) at St. Paul’s has been supported by Lights of Hope, including work to detect heart, lung and blood vessel diseases in their earliest stages to stop them from progressing.
