How to host a community fundraiser
There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating your own fundraiser.
Some ideas are bake sales, barbeques, company theme days, donations in lieu of birthday gifts, reunions or retirement parties, weddings , golf tournaments, athletic events (team or individual), car washes, dog washes, movie nights, the sky is the limit!
Through our fundraising platform, you’ll find tools and support to ensure your fundraising endeavour is a success.
Set up a fundraiser
Setting up an online fundraiser can be done in 3 easy steps:
Things to Consider Before You Get Started
-
Identify what kind of fundraiser you’d like to host. Check out some of the event types and featured fundraising heroes below for inspiration.
-
Make a list of who you would like to ask to support you – include friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, local community members, and businesses. Don’t be shy, you might be surprised how others will embrace your cause and support your fundraising initiative.
-
Consider which methods of collecting funds you’ll be using for your fundraiser:
Will you be charging admission or selling tickets? Will the proceeds from ticket sales be donated? Will you be asking your supporters for a donation to support you in an activity? Will you be offering an item for a suggested donation, like in a bake sale or a garage sale? Will you be hosting a silent auction or raffle? Will you only be asking for donations online via email and social media?
Having an idea or plan for these questions above will lead to greater success in your fundraising initiative! -
Setting an attainable fundraising goal will help inspire your supporters to feel amazing about the impact their gift will have. If donors know the total you want to raise and why, they are more likely to help you meet your objective.
