On Saturday, January 26, 2019 the 12th annual Scotiabank Feast of Fortune, an incredible celebration of Chinese New Year that combined amazing food creations, spectacular live entertainment and a highly-anticipated live auction raised $1,008,993 for Mount Saint Joseph Hospital!

Thank you for your support! Your generosity will resonate across the hospital and help wherever it’s needed most – anywhere from cardiology to surgery, to emergency, imaging, and more.

Since 2008, Scotiabank Feast of Fortune has raised over $6.7 million for the purchase of vital medical equipment across all departments at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital.

We were pleased to present a very special entertainer at the 2019 Scotiabank Feast of Fortune.

Linda Chung  鍾嘉欣

Linda Chung is a popular Chinese-Canadian actress and singer. Born in Maple Ridge, BC and raised in Vancouver, Chung began her public life in 2002, when she won the title of Miss Crystal Cover Girl, a beauty-talent contest organized and hosted by Crystal Mall in Burnaby.

In 2003, Chung won the title of Miss Chinese Vancouver, earning her the chance to participate in the 2004 Miss Chinese International Pageant in Hong Kong, which she went on to win. After being crowned, Chung started her acting career with TVB Hong Kong, and making her debut in the series Virtues of Harmony II, the modern spin-off of the sitcom, Virtues of Harmony.

Chung’s breakthrough role came in 2007, where she played one of the main characters in the popular series, Heart of Greed, and was nominated for “Best Actress” and “My Most Favourite Female Character Role” for her role in the series. In 2013, Chung won the “Ten TV entertainer” award, voted for by the public, in the Next TV Publishing Ceremony; her sixth consecutive win.

In the fall of 2015, Chung married chiropractor Jeremy Leung, and in August 2016 they welcomed their daughter, Kelly Leung. In September, 2018, she announced the birth of her son, Jared Anthony Leung. Linda Chung lives in Vancouver with her family.

Sing Lim Yeo, SBStJ., O.B.C

Over the last 30 years, Sing has selflessly devoted his time, energy and financial support towards enhancing health care, social programs, multiculturalism and heritage, and international disaster relief. His personal commitment and contribution to volunteerism in his community is diverse and wide-reaching, touching the lives of many with his philanthropy.

One of Sing’s most amazing achievements is his vision and dedication to enhancing patient care at Mount Saint Joseph (MSJ) Hospital. Since 2007, Sing, along with Scotiabank, has been the driving force behind the annual Scotiabank Feast of Fortune fundraising gala, an event that celebrates Chinese New Year while raising much-needed funds for MSJ. Sing leads the fundraising committee, and together with his wife, Patricia, spends countless hours securing sponsors, donors, and supporters for the event, while also making their own generous financial contribution.

Celebrating its 12th anniversary in 2019, the Scotiabank Feast of Fortune has grown from 250 to more than 650 guests, and has successfully raised over $5.7 million for vital medical equipment purchases, including the hospital’s first digital mammography machine, echocardiography machine, 3D ultrasound breast scanner, CT scanner, and surgical and emergency care equipment; equipment that allows MSJ’s medical team to provide better patient care.

Sing sees his volunteer leadership and philanthropic support as his legacy to the country that welcomed his family more than 30 years ago. To him, his philanthropy is a way to express his great gratitude for the community where he has built his life. Sing’s dedication to philanthropy and volunteerism is inspirational, and has made a meaningful difference to so many people in British Columbia.
