With your generosity, Foundry has grown from its prototype centre in Vancouver to a world-renowned collaborative network of 17 centres including Foundry Virtual BC, with 18 more centres in development.
Your support propels Foundry’s innovation and expansion, so we can empower more youth to achieve their best life.
Our vision is for every young person in BC, their families, and caregivers to have access to supports no matter where they live, either in person or virtually using our FoundryBC app.
But we aspire to do more than improve access. We aim to innovate, creating quality and timely services so that young people receive effective support early, to prevent small problems from becoming bigger ones. Investing $1 in prevention and early intervention of mental health or substance use returns as much as $23 in expected economic and health benefits.
Over the next five years, we aim to raise funds:
- For our vision of provincial expansion and centre development
- To support our work with rural and remote communities and with Indigenous and racialized communities
- To fund our research, knowledge sharing, education and training, and service innovations

A bold goal for a brighter future
Double our Foundry network to double the number of young people accessing services.
Young people across BC are struggling – with higher rates of mental illness and substance use than any other age group. Early intervention is critical. And at this moment, we are faced with the challenge of opening more Foundry centres than we’ve ever opened before.
To meet growing demand for integrated youth services, Foundry has been mandated by the provincial government to open 18 more centres by 2028. Thousands of young people have benefited from Foundry, but thousands more still need help overcoming life’s challenges.
Help us accelerate Foundry expansion until every young person across BC – including those in isolated and under-resourced areas – can easily access the help they need, when they need it.
Doubling the Foundry network by 2028 to help tens of thousands more youth access support earlier is an ambitious goal in a province the size of BC, but it’s essential. And the sooner it happens, the more lives we can transform.
But we can only achieve it with your help.

You can bring Foundry services to young people across the province.
To support Foundry’s expansion, Foundry and St. Paul’s Foundation aim to fundraise over $20 million to develop 20 more Foundry centres, so that over 20,000 additional young people in our province can easily access life-changing health and wellness services.
We urgently need to double Foundry’s network within the next few years so that one day every young person and caregiver across BC can easily access the help they need, when they need it, within their community or online.

Purpose-built space
Foundry Vancouver-Granville urgently needs a new space.
We’ve come a long way since opening our first centre in 2015. While thousands of young people have benefited, our work is far from done. Thousands more need our help to overcome life’s challenges in our city. And we need your support to move this forward.
FVG is in urgent need of a larger space with increased services, purpose-built and co-designed with youth, reflecting lessons learned from across the Foundry network since opening in 2015.
Flagship Foundry Centre
Some of the new features that will improve Foundry Vancouver-Granville include:
- Safe, bright, and welcoming spaces that use calming and natural elements
- A more open and accessible floor plan
- Soundproof rooms for young people accessing mental health supports or peer support
- More windows to allow for natural light
- Better ventilation systems for smudging ceremonies
- Additional Primary Care rooms to support the physical and sexual health care needs
- More space to run recreational wellness activities such as art and crafts, yoga, games, and cooking classes

Translating research into action
We speak to youth directly so we can understand and evaluate how we can better meet their needs.
Since 2021, Foundry Research has conducted over 30 studies across BC, contributed to over 45 peer-reviewed publications, supported over 30 research students, and over 20 research studies have been co-created with youth.
With you as our partner, we can:
- Co-create research alongside youth, families and staff
- Intentionally integrate and embed research within communities
- Collectively produce practical, actionable knowledge that sparks lasting change
- Bridge the divide between research and practice through real-time knowledge sharing
- Study Foundry’s impact, fill gaps in youth health understanding and drive service innovation

A great need for Foundry Programming
We offer many programs that are 100% donor funded, including:
- The Foundry Wellness program, supporting holistic health through non-clinical recreational, creative and social activities at Foundry centres
- Programs for 2SLGBTQIA+ (gender and sexually diverse) youth
- Incorporating Indigenous ways of knowing and being into youth wellness
- Supporting communities in rural or remote areas that do not yet have or likely will never have a Foundry centre
