"We're taking the fear out of old age"

The future of long-term care feels like home.

When you walk through the doors of Providence Living at The Views in Comox, you don’t step into an institution.

You step into life.

The scent of baking bread or cookies drifts from the kitchen as laughter spills out of the art room nearby. At The Views, residents can prepare meals together or wander outside for a breath of fresh air and enjoy the gardens, or sew in the hobby room. Whether stopping at the salon to get their hair done, grabbing some groceries at the local store, or meeting a friend at the cafe, this is the reality of a new kind of long term care, where residents have independence and the opportunity to live their lives in a way that they choose.

What is Home For Us?

This is Home For Us, Canada’s first publicly funded care village for people living with advanced dementia and others who need long-term care. Built on a model proven to bring dignity, belonging, and purpose back into daily living, The Views is redefining what long-term care means in this country.

This isn't just a philosophy. It's practice, and it's working.

Since opening in the summer of 2024, Providence Living at The Views has seen measurable improvements in residents’ well-being.

It’s absolutely amazing, I just get tears in my eyes to see (my husband) Lorne. He’s talking and making sense. It’s like a miracle, it gives me hope… He’s more alert. He’s happier. He’s laughing. I just can’t say enough about this (place).
