About Lights of Hope Vancouver
St. Paul’s Lights of Hope is one of our most visible and important fundraising campaigns. This year’s lights will shine bright from November 27, 2024, to January 03, 2025.
Since 1998, your gifts to Lights of Hope have totalled more than $53.7 million, making a difference to hundreds of thousands of patients and residents from across BC. Last year, more than 2,850 donors gave generously to help us exceed our $3.6 million fundraising goal, which supported 657,000+ inpatients, 145,000+ emergency department visits, 52,000+ surgeries and 926 seniors in long term care across Providence Health Care. This year, our goal is to raise $3.7 million.

From crisis to comeback: Karam’s journey of hope
One year after admiring the Lights of Hope display, Karam found herself inside St. Paul’s Hospital fighting a life-threatening illness. Thanks to the expert care and compassion she received, Karam regained her strength and returned to her active lifestyle.
How bili blankets support newborns and family bonding
The bili blanket at St. Paul’s Hospital treats newborn jaundice while allowing parents to hold and comfort their babies. The hospital’s collection has grown to six blankets, enhancing recovery and bonding for families like Julia Wulffhart’s.
Sweet support for health care
Each holiday season, Anna’s Cake House donates 1,000 star-shaped cookies to St. Paul’s Hospitalstaff during Lights of Hope. Inspired by his own care at St. Paul’s Hospital, owner Ron believes in the joy of giving back to those who care for the community.

Thanks to your generosity, the Lights of Hope 50/50 raffle raised an incredible $247,960—our largest jackpot to date! Half will go to our lucky winner, S. Barr, and the other half will help fund urgently needed equipment, essential programs, and services that directly enhance the quality of life for our patients and residents.
Your participation makes a meaningful difference for patients, long-term care residents, and families across BC. We are deeply grateful for your support.
