At St. Paul's Hospital, we believe that healing starts with being heard.

  • Private rooms: Every inpatient will have a private, digitally connected room designed to bring comfort, dignity, and seamless care.
  • Digital transformation: Smart bedside technology will enhance patient connection and personalization, while the PA Woodward Foundation Care Coordination Centre will improve patient flow by harnessing real-time data.
  • Improved emergency: The Teck Emergency Department will feature a flexible new zone model of care to streamline and improve the patient experience, helping those with urgent needs to receive care faster.
  • Family-centred NICU: In the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, parents and babies can heal together in a private room—supporting vital bonding, reducing stress, and promoting better health outcomes.
  • Care across the lifespan: The Shinozaki Family Centre for Healthy Aging will be BC’s first centralized hub for seniors care—connecting home, hospital, and specialized services to help older adults age with dignity

A whole new campus designed to support Healing Better

We’re creating a medical campus where care wraps around every patient and innovation transforms lives.

Healing and hope for chronic pain patients.

After years of debilitating chronic pain following a severe illness in 2016, Angelo Marvuglia found life-changing relief through ketamine infusion therapy. Under the care of Dr. May Ong, his pain dropped from near-constant agony to zero. Today, he’s regained his independence, returned to work, and is enjoying everyday life with his children again.

A new era is rising with the new St. Paul’s Hospital Jim Pattison Medical Campus. For people living with chronic or complex pain, it means expanded access to care that listens, understands, and treats the whole person.

A new heart, and a new beginning.

Four months into her pregnancy, Christine learned she was in heart failure and needed a heart transplant. St. Paul’s Hospital became her lifeline. Today, her new heart has given her more time with her daughter, her husband, and the people she loves most.

St. Paul’s Hospital is the only centre in BC performing adult heart transplants—helping patients facing heart failure live longer, fuller lives. The new St. Paul’s Hospital on the Jim Pattison Medical Campus will further elevate this work, advancing people‑centred care and research discoveries that improves patient outcomes.
