It’s still a few years before the new St. Paul’s Hospital takes its place on Station Street and among the world’s great health care centres, but Providence Health Care is already writing the next chapter in St. Paul’s long, storied history. Spoiler alert: St. Paul’s will continue to transform health care with innovation, compassion, and leadership.

Healing at St. Paul’s Hospital’s All Nations Sacred Space

For the past five years, the Indigenous Health team at St. Paul’s, led by Neil Fowler and overseen by Christopher De Bono, Providence Health Care’s (PHC) senior executive for Indigenous Wellness, has been working at the All Nations Sacred Space to provide opportunities for traditional healing for Indigenous people receiving care at St. Paul’s Hospital and within the larger community. The space, open 24 hours a day, has become the site of healing ceremonies, talking circles, feasts, and gatherings.
