The future of health care just got even brighter, thanks to a remarkable night of generosity and vision at Scotiabank Feast of Fortune.

On February 22, St. Paul’s Foundation welcomed the Year of the Snake with over 450 prominent guests. The event raised more than $2.5 million from its generous and longstanding donor community, including a leadership gift of $1.5 million from Pao Yao Koo and Douglas Kavanagh.

This unforgettable evening featured captivating performances, a taste of award-winning dishes from the Chinese Restaurant Awards, a unique live auction, a silent auction of one-of-a-kind items, and much more.

Shifting health care from ordinary to extraordinary

It was incredibly heartwarming to see how the philanthropic community of Greater Vancouver came together through their shared passion to support the work of Providence Health Care and Providence Living.

“Donations to the 2025 Scotiabank Feast of Fortune are making an incredible impact, playing a vital role in driving medical innovation and shifting health care from ordinary to extraordinary,” says Sheila Biggers, president and CEO, St. Paul’s Foundation. “The generous support from our community will benefit generations of people across British Columbia.”

Gifts to St. Paul’s Foundation support compassionate care of patients and families at Providence’s 18 care sites, life-changing research, and will accelerate the transformation of health care at the Jim Pattison Medical Campus.

“Feast of Fortune supporters are helping us realize the full vision of the Jim Pattison Medical Campus, enabling us to equip our health care teams with the space, tools, and resources they need to offer the very best care to every patient,” says Fiona Dalton, president and CEO of Providence Health Care.

Warren Chow, executive chef at Wildlight Kitchen & Bar and one of the talented Chinese Restaurant Awards chefs at the event, has a special connection with St. Paul’s Hospital that extends back to the day he was born.

“St. Paul’s Hospital’s doctors and nurses took care of me and my family when I needed intensive care as a baby, and I’m honoured to give back to this cause through my passion for cooking,” he says.
