Fundraising
St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders are raising funds to support Providence’s Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation program. This program supports self-identified Indigenous patients and families by providing access to traditional cultural practices and community supports including Elders, discharge planning, and culturally safe navigation, as well as supporting service providers to understand principles of cultural safety and humility and to apply their learnings to the care environment.
Future Leaders Speaker Series: “Hope and Resilience: Mental Health during a Pandemic”
COVID-19 has taken a devastating physical and emotional toll on our community. If you or a loved one has had COVID-19, you’re likely feeling anxious and adrift in the uncharted territory of long COVID. Even if we haven’t been diagnosed with the coronavirus, it’s safe to say that none of us has been spared from the pandemic’s wrenching aftermath.
A healing conversation took place on February 4, 2021 with an expert panel; Dr. Suja Srikameswaran, Dr. Grant Millar, Dr. Bri Bentzon Budlovsky and Jaclyn Robinson who shared their frontline stories and tangible strategies to cope with illness, uncertainty, loss, and loneliness.
Fundraising
St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders raised funds to support St. Paul’s Hospital’s Psychiatry and Mental Health departments. Over $1,000 was raised for the essential inpatient units, and the programs and research initiatives that help St. Paul’s Hospital inform better care and holistic wellness.

Future Leaders Speaker Series: “No Returns, No User Guide, and No Sleep: A conversation on the early days of parenthood”
St. Paul’s Future Leaders held a free, interactive event that dove into the new joys, trials, and challenges of early parenthood. Along with health care professionals from Providence Health Care, we discussed the early years of parenting and the impact of COVID-19.
The Keefer Bar opened the event with an interactive bartending demonstration, where attendees learned the art of a classic cocktail/mocktail, perfect for winding down when the kids are asleep.
Our panel of experts Dr. Judy Wolfe, Dr. Robert Anderson, Dr. Suja Srikameswaran, and Andrea Firmani then shared their knowledge around the importance of support systems and self-compassion, COVID-19 safety for kids, continuing education, identifying and treating post-partum depression, and more and answered your parenthood questions.
