St. Paul’s Foundation Future Leaders Committee FAQ
What is the Committee all about?
A group of young professionals, working together to make a difference in the community by raising awareness and funds to support St. Paul’s Foundation.
Why create a Future Leaders program?
- To increase St. Paul’s Foundation brand awareness amongst a younger demographic
- To attract broader community support for St. Paul’s Foundation at events and through charitable donations
- To promote a community culture of giving-back
- To help develop future community leaders by providing learning opportunities including: exposure to non-profit Governance and committee management, mentorship from Executive Team and members of the Board with the Future Leaders group, and professional fundraising experience with a major academic teaching and research hospital.
What are their responsibilities?
- To increase brand awareness by regularly and strategically promoting St. Paul’s Foundation news via social media and amongst personal networks
- To help promote St. Paul’s Foundation events including: Comprehensive Campaign for the new St. Paul’s Hospital, Lights of Hope and Feast of Fortune
- To help fundraise for St. Paul’s Foundation priorities
- To follow outlined prospect management guidelines with respect to all fundraising efforts
How does it connect to the St. Paul’s Foundation Board of Directors?
One or two current members of the Board of Directors will provide mentorship to the Future Leaders. These mentors will provide guidance and will act as liaisons to the St. Paul’s Foundation Board.
What are the membership guidelines?
Membership will reflect community diversity. As possible, it will include young professionals from the Providence community (clinicians, administration and researchers etc). To encourage opportunity and diversity, Board members are prohibited from nominating members from within their own company.
The St. Paul’s Foundation President & CEO and Chief Development Officer are de facto members of the St. Paul’s Future Leaders
What is the Term of Office?
Members serve a minimum commitment of a two-year term. Terms can be renewed twice, at the discretion of the Board mentors.
